Last year I hosted my websites on account I opened on one Web Hosting company, but all my work was wasted without any good result.
Do you want to know what happened to my account? After ten month of hosting all my websites one day a disaster stroke my account in general. I tried to login to my account and do my work as usual. You don't believe this, all my websites were gone. My account was deleted off their server and no one knows what happened. I emailed the company and told them the issue. They responded after 2 or 3 days and I tried to explain what happened. They said my site was down for couple of days due to a major maintenance on the servers. I asked them how long I had to wait for my site to start running. They did not want to give me any specific time to ensure me.
With patience I waited for a week. Called them and asked the same thing I did through email correspondence. Again, they said my site was down for maintenance purpose. The same thing I was told a week ago. I told him it was off the server for more than 10 days. The funny thing was that I could not even login to the Control Panel. Then I started to Google looking for a review of that company. And I found out that I was not the only person who suffered this disaster. There were a lot of people posting reviews about the company. Finally, I knew the company was lying about the major maintenance. The problem was either they intentionally deleted my whole account or due to carelessness so that I can buy the more expensive web hosting package that they have.
After my research about the company I decided to ask for my money back. Fortunately, the company had a policy of "anytime money back guarantee" when I first paid the full amount for 3 years. At the time I asked for money back my site was off the server for more than 6 weeks. When I started asking a refund they started to correct the problem. I told them I would stay with them if they are able to bring back all my site without any error in it. After 7 weeks my account was restored I don't know where it was restored from but it was full of errors. I was unable to login to the Control Panel.
I tried to access my sites from a browser and there was only one site which was restored. I emailed them back and told them the rest of my sites are not back- 3 sites. They restored 2 sites back and the other one is gone. No one knows the where about of that site. I started testing the sites. I found all the links were dead. The links took me nowhere. I click again and again, but no page was coming. I did the same thing on the other site and the problem was the same. Finally, I knew all my files stored on the database were deleted forever. No one was able to bring back all those files. I should have backed up my sites at lease every week, but I was kind of lazy and ignorant I got what I deserved.
Finally, after 3 months of my sites off the server, I asked for a refund. Then after 4 months of correspondence through email I was able to recover 65% of my initial payment. People, you have to be very careful when you rent a web hosting service. Most of these web hosting companies look good with low price. To tell you the truth they are not good. All of them have problems. I am lucky I got refunded, but there are some dudes out there who could not recover anything at all.
On my next post I will come up with the name of reliable hosting companies that I think are better. For now be smart, use your head, don't ask for how much will this company charge me. Ask if the company is reliable to host all your websites without any worry. I now regret the time and work I wasted on those websites. A huge waste! that's how I call it.
